United States District Court
Attorneys seeking to practice before the U.S. District Court of the Western District of Virginia must be an active or emeritus member of the Virginia State Bar in good standing and must meet all the requirements of Local Rule 6. An Application for Admission to Practice Law must be completed and forwarded to the Clerk's Office. The Clerk's Office will contact the attorney when the application is received and will provide information regarding the admission process. All admission fees are paid at the time of the swearing in.
Pursuant to Local Rule 6(c), any attorney admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia is permitted to practice in this Court upon the filing of an original certificate of good standing from the Clerk of the Eastern District of Virginia. Applicants should submit the certificate of good standing along with a cover letter and CMECF Registration Form. No fee is required.
